What personal data this website handles, why, and which services are involved. It describes how the site actually works today.
Who runs this site
gulshadansari.com is run by Gulshad Ansari as an individual; it is not operated by a company. For any question about this policy or about your data, email hello@gulshadansari.com.
In short
- There are no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts on this site.
- The site does not set cookies of its own.
- Personal data is only involved when you create a student account, send an email, or submit feedback about the Gulshad BIM Toolkit.
Visiting the site
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, delivering a page means Cloudflare processes technical details of each request — such as your IP address, your browser’s user agent and the address requested — to serve the page and protect the service. No analytics are run on those requests by this site.
Student accounts and course access
Student accounts are provided by Supabase, which stores the account and handles sign-in. Creating an account asks for your email address, a password and, optionally, your name. Supabase also sends the account’s confirmation and password-reset emails.
Your password goes from your browser directly to Supabase. This site does not store it and cannot read it.
Stored with your account:
- the name you gave, if any;
- the courses you are enrolled in, which decide the lessons you can open;
- the lessons you mark as complete, so your progress follows you between devices.
While you are signed in, your session is kept in your browser’s local storage so that you stay signed in between visits. Signing out removes it.
Course videos
Lesson videos are YouTube videos, embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. When a lesson’s player loads, your browser connects to YouTube, and what YouTube receives is covered by Google’s privacy policy. Links to a course’s playlist open on YouTube itself.
The lesson discussion and lesson feedback forms on course pages are not connected yet. Nothing typed into them is sent or stored.
If you email hello@gulshadansari.com, I receive your email address and whatever your message contains. The address on this site is a plain email link: it opens your own email program, and the website itself does not receive or store the message.
Gulshad BIM Toolkit feedback
The Toolkit feedback form asks for the type of feedback, your Revit version, the tool concerned, a subject and a description, and optionally a screenshot, your name and your email address.
When the feedback service is switched on, a submission is stored in a Cloudflare database (with any screenshot in Cloudflare storage), and a notification email containing it is sent through Resend. At the time of writing that service is not switched on: the form says that submissions are temporarily unavailable, and nothing you enter is saved.
Payments
The site does not take payments and does not collect card or bank details.
Services involved
- Cloudflare — hosts the site; stores Toolkit feedback once that service is switched on.
- Supabase — student accounts, enrolments and course progress.
- YouTube (Google) — lesson videos.
- Resend — notification emails for Toolkit feedback, once that service is switched on.
Each of these providers processes data under its own terms and may do so outside the UAE.
Your data and your choices
Account data stays in Supabase for as long as the account exists. To get a copy of it, to correct it, or to have the account and its data deleted, email hello@gulshadansari.com from the address on the account.
Changes to this policy
When the way the site handles personal data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Questions are always welcome at hello@gulshadansari.com, and the contact page has more on getting in touch.
