CAD to BIM Automation

About this course

Legacy CAD drawings already carry the geometry a project needs, and that geometry usually gets redrawn from scratch in Revit. This course covers reading CAD linework and layer structure as meaningful input, generating native elements from it, and pushing drawing data onto element parameters — the workflow behind several of the tools in the Gulshad BIM Toolkit.

What you will learn

• Read CAD layers and linework as structured input rather than background images
• Generate native Revit elements from existing drawing geometry
• Assign parameter data from the drawing to the elements created from it
• Build a verification step so generated geometry is checked, not trusted blindly
